Some features may not function as expected. The Rocket.Chat Google Drive app brings a seamless Google Drive experience directly into your Rocket.Chat workspace. This integration allows users to do the following without leaving Rocket.Chat: 1. View and open Google Drive files and their details. 2. Share files and manage sharing permissions. 3. Create new files. ## Prerequisites - Your workspace must be on a publicly available domain. - A [Google Cloud project](https://console.cloud.google.com/) is required to obtain the [OAuth2 credentials](https://support.google.com/cloud/answer/15549257?sjid=4957096247730465609-EU). ## Install the Google Drive App 1. Go to **Marketplace** ![](https://cdn.us.document360.io/6ae79a05-7252-45d0-96e8-8f375e07b1b2/Images/Documentation/Screenshot 2025-12-23 130453.png) **> Explore**. 2. Search for and select the **Google Drive app**. 3. Click **Install** and **Agree** to accept the required permissions. 4. After installing, you will receive a direct message from `google-drive.bot` with instructions on how to get started. 5. Click **Setup** to view the instructions. Copy the **redirect_url** displayed and save it for later. ## Get Google Cloud client credentials To enable Rocket.Chat to connect with Google Calendar, create OAuth credentials in your Google Cloud project: 1. Go to the [Google Cloud Console](https://console.cloud.google.com/) and either create a new project or select an existing one. 2. From the sidebar, navigate to **APIs & Services > OAuth consent screen**. 3. Click **Create OAuth client**. 4. Select **Web application** as the application type and fill in the required details. Add the **redirect_url** you copied from `google-drive.bot` as the **Authorized redirect URIs**. 5. Click **Create**. 6. Copy the generated **Client ID** and **Client Secre**t. You will need them for the next configuration step. 7. To enable the Google Drive API on your project: 1. Go to **APIs & Services → Library**. 2. Search for **Google Drive API** and click **Enable**. ## Configure the Google Drive app In your Rocket.Chat workspace, 1. On the **Google Drive App Info screen**, select the **Settings** tab. 2. Paste the **Client ID** and **Client Secret** you copied from the Google Cloud Console. 3. Click **Save changes**. At this point, the app is configured at the workspace level. The next step is for users to [authorize their accounts and start using the app](/v1/docs/using-the-google-drive-app).
