# Localization FAQ

****What languages does Rocket.Chat support?****

Rocket.Chat supports multiple languages through community-driven translations.

While there is no fixed list of officially supported languages, the platform is available in a wide range of languages maintained by contributors.

**How it works**

- Translations are provided and maintained by the global community
- Language availability may vary depending on translation coverage
- You can select your preferred language in your account settings

****How are languages categorized into tiers?****

Rocket.Chat groups languages into tiers based on how complete and reliable the translations are:

- **Tier 1 (80%+ complete):** High-quality translations with strong coverage, often maintained by dedicated contributors or professional services
- **Tier 2 (50–79% complete):** Moderately complete translations, with some inconsistencies or untranslated areas
- **Tier 3 (<50% complete):** Basic translations with significant gaps; parts of the interface may still appear in the default language
