# Trello App

The Trello app for Rocket.Chat allows you to receive notifications about Trello activities directly in your workspace. These notifications can include updates on created cards, new comments, completed checklist items, and uploaded attachments.

### Prerequisites

- A Trello account with active boards.

## Install the Trello app

To install the Trello Rocket.Chat app,

1. Go to **Marketplace** ![](https://cdn.us.document360.io/6ae79a05-7252-45d0-96e8-8f375e07b1b2/Images/Documentation/Screenshot 2025-12-23 130453.png) **> Explore**.
2. Search for **Trello**, then click on the app from the results.
3. Click **Install** and **Agree** to the required permissions to complete the installation.

After installation, you will receive a direct message from `trello.bot` with setup instructions.

## Configure Trello app

Once the app is installed, the next step is to configure it with your Trello account's credentials.

1. Open your direct message chat with `trello.bot` and run the slash command `/trello setup`. The bot will display a set of instructions, including your Rocket.Chat server URL. Copy the URL and save for later.
2. In a new browser tab, log in to your [Trello](https://trello.com/) account and go to the [Power-Up Admin portal](https://trello.com/power-ups/admin/).
3. Select an existing Power-up or [create a new one](https://support.atlassian.com/trello/docs/enabling-power-ups/). To create a new Power-up:
  1. Click **New**.
  2. Enter the Power-up **name** and select the **workspace**.
  3. Add your **email** and support **contact**.
  4. Add your personal name or company name as the **Author.**
  5. Click **Create**.
4. For the selected Power-Up, go to the **API Key section** and click **Generate API key**.
5. In the **Allowed Origins field,** paste the Rocket.Chat server URL copied earlier from `trello.bot` and click **Add**.
6. Copy both the **API Key** and **OAuth Secret** from the Trello page.
7. In Rocket.Chat, go to the **Trello App Info screen** and navigate to **Settings**.
8. Paste the **API Key** and **OAuth Secret** into the appropriate fields.
9. Click **Save.**
