# Using the Trello App

## Authorize your account

Every user who wishes to use the Trello integration must complete this authorization step.

1. In the `trello.bot` chat, run the slash command `/trello authorize`.
2. Click the **Authenticate** button. You will be redirected to Trello.
3. If prompted, log in to your Trello account, then click **Allow** to grant the app the necessary permissions.
4. A confirmation message from the `trello.bot` will signal a successful connection.

## Link a Trello board to a room

Once your account is authorized, you can link your Trello boards to any Rocket.Chat [room](/v1/docs/rooms) to receive notifications.

1. Go to the [room](/v1/docs/rooms) where you want to receive Trello notifications.
2. Run the slash command `/trello link`. Alternatively, you can click the **kebab menu** from the room menu bar and select **Link Trello Board.**
3. A list of Trello boards connected to your account will be displayed. Click the **Link** button for the board you want to select.
4. You will now receive notifications in that room for any activity on the linked Trello board. Each notification includes a **Go to card** button, which opens the corresponding card on your Trello board.
