# Complete the Setup Wizard

The setup wizard creates your admin account, saves your organization details, and registers your workspace with Rocket.Chat Cloud. It opens automatically the first time you open a new self-managed workspace, and it stays open until an admin completes it.

The wizard runs only once. To change your organization details afterward, see the [Update Organization Details](https://docs.rocket.chat/v1/docs/setup-wizard) article.

> [!NOTE]
> If your workspace is already registered, the wizard has only two steps, **Admin Info** and **Organization Info**, and the registration steps are skipped.

## Before you begin

You need:

- Your workspace open in a web browser or the desktop app. The mobile app doesn't include the setup wizard. For instructions on opening your workspace, see the [Access Your Workspace as Admin](https://docs.rocket.chat/v1/docs/access-your-workspace-as-admin) article.
- An email address you can access. Rocket.Chat Cloud sends a confirmation email to it during registration.

> [!WARNING]
> The first person to complete the **Admin Info** step becomes the workspace admin. Complete the wizard right after deployment, before you share the workspace URL.

## Step 1: Enter admin information

On the **Admin Info** screen, create the admin account:

- **Full name**: Your first and last name.
- **Username**: Use letters, numbers, hyphens, underscores, and periods. You can't use `admin`, `all`, or `here`.
- **Email**: Your email address. It's also saved as the organization email.
- **Password**: The requirements are shown below the field and must all be met.

Click **Next**. Rocket.Chat creates the account and signs you in as the admin.

## Step 2: Enter organization information

On the **Organization Info** screen, enter:

- **Organization name**
- **Organization industry**
- **Organization size**
- **Country**

Click **Next**. If your workspace is already registered, this button says **Register** instead, and clicking it completes the wizard.

## Step 3: Register your workspace

Registration connects your workspace to Rocket.Chat Cloud. It's required for mobile push notifications, marketplace apps, and license updates.

The wizard offers one of two registration methods. If the server can't reach the internet, **Register workspace** is unavailable and **Register offline** appears instead.

### Register online

1. In **Admin email**, enter the email address of your Rocket.Chat Cloud account. If you don't have a Cloud account yet, you're prompted to create one.
2. Accept the **Terms of Service** and **Privacy Policy**.
3. Click **Register workspace**.

Continue to Step 4.

### Register offline

Use this method for workspaces without internet access, such as air-gapped deployments.

1. Click **Register offline**.
2. Copy the token shown in the wizard.
3. In a browser with internet access, sign in to Rocket.Chat Cloud, go to **Workspaces**, and click **Register self-managed**.
4. Click **Continue offline**, and paste the token into the **Register offline workspace** dialog.
5. Copy the text that Rocket.Chat Cloud generates.
6. Back in the wizard, click **Next** and paste the text into the **Registration token** field.
7. Click **Complete registration**.

The wizard closes and your workspace is ready. You can skip Step 4. For more details about offline workspaces, see the [Air-gapped Workspace Registration](https://docs.rocket.chat/v1/docs/air-gapped-workspace-registration) article.

## Step 4: Confirm your registration

The **Awaiting confirmation** screen shows the email address you entered and a security code.

1. Open the email from Rocket.Chat Cloud.
2. Check that the security code in the email matches the one on screen.
3. Click **Verify Registration** in the email.

The wizard detects the confirmation, closes, and shows the message "Your workspace is ready to use".

If the email doesn't arrive, click **Resend** on the **Awaiting confirmation** screen, or click **Change email** to use a different address.

## Change these details later
