# Manage Units

Omnichannel Units allow you to logically group multiple [departments](/v1/docs/departments) for centralized management and monitoring. They are primarily used by Livechat Monitors to gain oversight into specific areas of the business.

As an [Omnichannel Manager](/v1/docs/omnichannel-users#omnichannel-managers), you can create a unit, assign several departments to it, and designate a [monitor](/v1/docs/omnichannel-users#omnichannel-monitors) to oversee its performance.

To access **Units** menu, go to **Manage** ![Screenshot 2025-12-23 130522.png](https://cdn.us.document360.io/6ae79a05-7252-45d0-96e8-8f375e07b1b2/Images/Documentation/Screenshot%202025-12-23%20130522.png) **> Omnichannel > Units**.

## Create Omnichannel unit

To create a new unit:

1. Click the **Create Unit** button at the top of the **Unit** page.
2. Fill in the following unit details:
  1. **Name:** The name of the new unit.
  2. **Visibility**: Set its visibility as private or public. A private unit will be available only to you (the creator). The public unit will be available to other managers and monitors as appropriate.
  3. **Departments**: Add the departments that will be categorized under this unit.
  4. **Monitors**: Assign monitors who will be responsible for overseeing the unit's departments.
3. Click **Save**.

## List Omnichannel units

On the **Units** screen, a list of all the existing units is displayed with details and can be paginated if there are many units.

## Delete Omnichannel unit

To delete a unit:

1. On the **Units** screen, find the unit you want to remove.
2. Click the **delete icon** ![](https://cdn.us.document360.io/6ae79a05-7252-45d0-96e8-8f375e07b1b2/Images/Documentation/image(161).png) on the right next to the unit.
