Polls are a great way to drive engagement from your team members and receive quick feedback. The Poll app allows you to create polls inside a room.
To install the Poll app, follow these steps:
Go to Administration > Apps > Marketplace.
Search for the Poll app and click on it.
On the pop-up window that opens, select the checkbox to agree to the app’s Terms & Privacy Policy.
Then, click Get and Agree to the list of required permissions.
The app is successfully installed and enabled in your workspace for all users. Click the kebab menu under the app’s name and description to view logs, disable the app, and uninstall it.
Poll app settings
Once the app is installed, click the Settings tab to access the app’s settings. The following setting is available for this app:
Use name attribute to display voters, instead of username: Enable this option to display users’ full names instead of user names, when displaying voters.
How to use the Poll app
To create a poll in a channel, follow these steps:
To create a poll, type
/poll
in the message box of the room you want the poll.Then, click Enter to execute. A pop-up form is triggered for you to create the poll. The form details include the following:
Insert your question: The poll question.
Insert your options: The reply options for the poll.
Add a choice: Add more reply options for the poll.
Choice type: Select if voters can choose multiple options or only one option.
Vote visibility: Select if the poll will have "open vote" or "confidential vote."
Always Show Vote: Select when to show poll results.
After creating the poll, it is available in the room for the users to vote.
To finish the poll, follow these steps:
Select the kebab menu at the top of the poll.
Then, click Finish poll.
