Native Federation is currently in Alpha and not recommended for production use. Expect breaking changes and limited functionality. Use in testing environments only.
After the workspace administrator successfully configures Native Federation, users can start communicating with federated users from other servers using the new, native federation layer.
Supported message actions (Alpha)
Native Federation currently supports the following message actions in Rocket.Chat:
Send and receive messages, including emojis and markdown.
Edit and delete your own messages.
Use reactions, quotes, and threads in federated conversations.
Receive typing indicators from other users.
Share files, including images, audio, and video attachments.
Mention users from other federated Rocket.Chat servers.
Assign room roles (owner and moderator) to users in federated rooms.
