If you create a custom bot, ensure it is a member of the room where anonymous messages are posted. Otherwise, messages will not be forwarded.

Now that you've successfully set up the Anonymizer app, the next section guides you on how users can  use the app in your workspace.

Use the Anonymizer app

Once the Anonymizer app is installed and configured, you can inform the members of the designated room that they can now send anonymous messages.

To send an anonymous message,

  1. A user simply sends a direct message to the configured bot (e.g., rocket.cat).

  2. The bot will then forward the message to the configured Room Name without revealing the sender's identity.

  3. Messages sent by users who are not part of the Members Room are ignored.

Troubleshooting: If your custom bot isn't forwarding messages, try disabling and re-enabling the Anonymizer app after updating the settings.

With the Anonymizer app in your workspace, you can create a secure channel for open expression that builds trust and transparency across your organization.
