Poll

The Poll app allows you to create polls directly inside any Rocket.Chat room, providing a quick and effective way to gather feedback and drive engagement in your team.

Install the Poll app

To install the Poll app, follow these steps:

1. Go to Marketplace > Explore.

2. Search for and select the Poll app.

3. In the pop-up window, select the checkbox to agree to the app's Terms & Privacy Policy.

4. Click Get and then Agree to the list of required permissions.

The app is now successfully installed and enabled for all users in your workspace.

Configure the Poll app

After installing the app, you need to configure its settings.

1. On the Poll App Info screen, go to the Settings tab.

2. Enable the Use name attribute to display voters, instead of username option to display a voter's full name instead of their username in the poll results.

Using the Poll app

To create a new poll,

1. Enter the /poll slash command in the message box of the room where you want the poll to appear.

2. A pop-up form will be opened. Fill out the form details:

   1. Insert your question: The question for your poll.

   2. Insert your options: The initial answer choices for the poll.

   3. Add a choice: Click this to add more reply options.

   4. Choice type: Select whether voters can choose a single option or multiple options.

   5. Vote visibility: Choose between "open vote" (voters' identities are visible) and "confidential vote" (voters' identities are anonymous).

   6. Always Show Vote: Select when the poll results should be visible.

3. After you create the poll, it will be posted in the room for users to vote on.

To end a poll, follow these steps:

1. Select the kebab menu at the top of the poll.

2. Then, click Finish poll.

After a poll has ended, users can no longer vote in that poll.
