Nonprofit Program

The Rocket.Chat Nonprofit program gives eligible nonprofit organizations a reduced-price Commercial plan subscription. If your organization has 50 users or fewer, you can use the free Starter plan without applying.

Start with Starter

Every self-managed workspace you deploy on Rocket.Chat 6.5 or later is provisioned as a Starter workspace. Starter is free and includes:

Up to 50 users.
Many premium capabilities, with usage limits.
Community knowledge and self-serve documentation for support.

Starter is limited to one workspace per organization. For the full list of Starter capabilities, see Our Plans.

If your charity has outgrown the 50-user limit of Starter and a standard self-hosted Commercial license meets its needs, you can apply to the Nonprofit program.

Who's eligible

Your organization must meet all of the following requirements:

Provide documentation establishing recognized nonprofit or charitable status in your jurisdiction.
Have no affiliation with government, academic, commercial, religious, or political entities.
Be unable to fund a standard Rocket.Chat Commercial subscription.
Be willing to let Rocket.Chat use your organization's name and logo in promotional materials.

What's included

Approved organizations receive a 3-year subscription to a Rocket.Chat self-hosted Commercial license for up to 1,000 users, for a one-time subscription fee of $300.00 USD.

Your organization must sign the Rocket.Chat Commercial order form and accept the associated Customer Terms and Terms of Use (EULA).

Apply to the program

Open the Nonprofit Program application form.
Enter your organization details.
Attach proof of your nonprofit status.
Submit the form.

Your submission creates a support ticket, and the Rocket.Chat support team reviews your application within four to six weeks.

Every application receives a response. If your organization is approved, you receive details on how to complete the Commercial order form and activate your workspace.
