Starting from Rocket.Chat v6.5, every newly deployed workspace is automatically provisioned as a Starter workspace. Designed for technical evaluations and small teams (up to 50 users), Starter workspaces include access to selected premium capabilities with usage limits.
To expand limits or unlock advanced features, you can upgrade to a premium plan such as Commercial, Government, or Defense.
Step 1: Subscribe to a premium plan
Upgrading your workspace to a premium plan is handled through the Rocket.Chat Sales team. This process allows you to tailor a plan to your organization's specific requirements.
To subscribe to a premium plan:
Contact the Rocket.Chat Sales team to discuss your requirements.
Once your purchase is finalized, you will receive a welcome email with your subscription details.
Step 2: Apply the license
If your workspace has an active internet connection, follow these steps to sync your new plan:
Log in to your workspace as an administrator.
Navigate to Manage
> Workspace > Subscription.Click Sync license update to retrieve your new license from Rocket.Chat Cloud.
Once the sync completes, your workspace updates automatically, and your new subscription details will appear on the Subscription page.
For offline workspaces, refer to Apply license in an air-gapped workspace.
