A seat is any user with an Active or Pending status in the user panel, regardless of whether they have logged in.

The following do not count as seats:

What are the seat limits for Rocket.Chat plans?

  • Starter: Up to 50 users

  • Enterprise, Government, and Defense plans: Custom limits based on your organization’s needs

To upgrade your plan, request a PoC from our team at https://www.rocket.chat/sales-contact.

What happens if I exceed the seat limit?

You cannot exceed your seat limit by adding new users, once the limit is reached, additional users cannot be added.

If a premium license is applied to a workspace that already exceeds its allowed number of seats, the license may not be valid until the seat count is brought within the limit.

Recommendation: To avoid service disruptions, ensure your number of seats stays within your plan’s limit.
