As of December 15, 2023, Rocket.Chat has ceased support for connections from cloud services and official mobile/desktop apps to workspaces running legacy versions outside our support window. Users on unsupported legacy servers are advised to upgrade to the latest Rocket.Chat version to ensure continued access to cloud, mobile, and desktop applications. Each Rocket.Chat version is supported for six months post-release.
Starting from Rocket.Chat v6.5, every deployed workspace is automatically provisioned as a Starter workspace. Starter workspaces are intended for technical evaluations and small teams of up to 50 users, and include access to selected premium capabilities with usage limits. As your requirements grow, you can subscribe to any premium plan such as Commercial, Government, or Defense. Applying a subscription license enables the features included in your selected plan.
After deploying and registering your workspace, you can acquire a license through either of these two subscription methods:
Sales-enabled subscription: Use this method to subscribe a self-managed workspace to a premium plan or to upgrade your cloud-hosted workspace plan. (Rocket.Chat provides cloud-hosting services if you don’t want to deploy a workspace on your infrastructure.)
Self-service subscription: Use this method to upgrade to any available self-service plans for self-managed workspaces. (Self-managed workspaces are workspaces that you deploy on your own infrastructure.)
Sales-enabled subscription
You can only subscrible to premium plans or cloud-hosted workspaces through the Sales team. This offers the flexibility to discuss your requirements and finalize the subscription based on your preferences.
To complete a sales-enabled subscription:
Contact the Rocket.Chat Sales team with your requirements.
After your purchase is finalized, you’ll receive a welcome email with further details of the subscription.
To apply the new license, log in to your workspace as an administrator.
Navigate to Manage
> Workspace > Subscription.Click Sync license update to retrieve the updated license from Rocket.Chat Cloud.
After the sync is completed, your workspace is updated with the new plan and the subscription details become available on the Subscription page.
Self-service subscription
The self-service subscription process allows you to subscribe to any available self-service plans directly through the Rocket.Chat Cloud portal.
To complete a self-service subscription:
Log in to your Rocket.Chat Cloud account.
Navigate to Workspaces and select your workspace.
Click Subscribe to purchase yearly seats on the selected plan.
Update the number of seats based on your needs.
Review your selections and click Continue to proceed to the Stripe checkout page.
Enter your payment details and click Subscribe to complete the purchase.
After a successful payment, you’ll be redirected back to the Cloud portal, where your workspace reflects the updated subscription.
To apply the new license, log in to your Rocket.Chatworkspace as an administrator.

> Workspace > Subscription.Click Sync license update to retrieve the updated license from Rocket.Chat Cloud.
